Who we are
Vine - Violence information Aotearoa, is New Zealand's national centre for family violence and sexual violence information. An independent resource hub that curates, connects and shares research and information with people working to end violence and grow oranga.
We honour our roles and responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We work to ensure that Te Tiriti is reflected within all our mahi.
About our organisation and name
For almost 20 years we have been the New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse. It was time to change our name to reflect how we have changed.
Vine, Violence information Aotearoa, is inspired by the idea of the kūmara Vine, te aka kūmara, a metaphor for open communication and sharing of information. Like the kūmara Vine, we are here to reach out, connect and communicate to create new growth. Sharing research, analysis and knowledge on sexual violence and family violence in Aotearoa New Zealand to help drive positive change.
Cared for by a team of passionate experts, Vine has been the national resource for family violence and sexual violence information for nearly 20 years. Working collectively with researchers, practitioners and communities to inspire oranga through understanding. Learn more about our history.

Previously the New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse, we changed our name to Vine, Violence Information Aotearoa in 2025.
