Insights from first year of specialist takatāpui and rainbow ACC sensitive claims service

Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura – Outing Violence has published Discussion paper: one year insights. Specialist Takatāpui & Rainbow ACC sensitive claims support (2026). Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura – Outing Violence’s service is the first and currently only specialist national therapeutic sexual harm support service for takatāpui and rainbow survivors in Aotearoa. The discussion paper provides an overview of their service at the one-year mark, outlining:

  • its growth
  • their intake process
  • the development of an expert body of therapists and practitioners, and
  • challenges and opportunities observed within the system.

Second Outcomes and Measurement Framework monitoring report published by The Centre

The Centre for Family Violence and Sexual Violence Prevention has published Te Aorerekura Outcomes and Measurement Framework: second monitoring report of the Executive Board for the Elimination of Family Violence and Sexual Violence (2026). The report gives a high-level overview of current progress towards each of the 12 national long-term outcomes set out in the Framework, primarily focusing on changes since the first monitoring report.

New report on young people, online worlds and respectful relationships education

Australian primary prevention organisation, Our Watch, has published a new report: Young people, online worlds and respectful relationships education: What the research tells us (2026). This research summary by Our Watch and The University of Melbourne’s Youth Research Collective finds young people are forming attitudes about gender, sex and relationships earlier than ever, while navigating growing risks in online environments. New report on children and young people experiencing homelessness

The Coalition to End Women’s Homelessness has published a new report: Children and Young People Experiencing Homelessness (2026). The report examines experiences of 33,192 children and young people in Aotearoa living in severe housing deprivation. The report tracks their outcomes across education, care and protection, criminal justice and health. For an overview, see the Coalition’s media release.

Consultation open on Public Finance (Prohibition on Providing Public Funds to Gangs) Amendment Bill

The Justice Select Committee is calling for public submissions on the Public Finance (Prohibition on Providing Public Funds to Gangs) Amendment Bill. The bill would make changes to the Public Finance Act 1989 to prohibit the Crown and its agencies from providing funds directly and indirectly to organisations that are run, administered, or associated with gangs. It would oblige the Crown and its agencies to take all reasonable precautions to prevent this from happening.
