This session will be presented by CITR Guest speaker Dr. Tipparat Udmuangpia.

Presentation outline: In Thailand’s collectivist society, Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) presents a complex paradox: while community ties are strong, cultural norms regarding family privacy often force survivors and their support networks into silence. Dr. Tipparat Udmuangpia will present the findings of an eight-year research portfolio. Her research uncovers critical gaps in the current system, specifically the "Will vs. Way" phenomenon where healthcare providers possess the motivation (the will) to screen for violence but lack the confidence and systemic resources (the way) to do so effectively.
