Mana Mokopuna - Children's Commissioner is an independent advocate for all 1.2 million mokopuna aged under 18 in Aotearoa and care-experienced mokopuna aged up to 25.

Join the Children's Commissioner, Dr Claire Achmad and Leon Tan of the Children's Rights Alliance Aotearoa New Zealand for a fireside conversation exploring what it could mean to "bring home" the promise of children's rights through incorporation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 1989 (UNCRC) into domestic law.
Drawing on Leon's recent learning journey to the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia, supported by the Michael and Suzanne Borrin Foundation, Claire and Leon will consider lessons from Scotland's incorporation journey and what they may offer Aotearoa New Zealand.
Together, they will reflect on where Aotearoa New Zealand is today and how incorporation may move children's rights beyond aspiration and into the everyday systems, structures and decisions that support tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and communities.
