About this event:
The seminar will be presented by Professor Janet Fanslow (Social and Community Health, School of Population Health, Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland; Chief Advisor, Vine - Violence Information Aotearoa).
Using global and local data, this seminar will present cutting edge research on the long-term health consequences of violence, including cancer, respiratory and digestive disorders, reproductive health, and mental disorders and addictions. Strategies for how we could strengthen the New Zealand health system to address this critical determinant of health in light of recent policy changes will be discussed. Please come along for a lively discussion about how the School of Population Health, the FMHS, and the University could help build the leadership needed to change this story.
